There are two kinds of people I hold in awe - 🎸 professional musicians and 🏃♀️ world-class athletes.
🥁 One of my favorite drummers is Larnell Lewis, drummer in one of my favorite bands 🐶 SNARKY PUPPY!
In this video, Larnell plays an entire song flawlessly after hearing it ONCE.
That's when I heard the quote.
After listening to the song (with no drum parts), Larnell pulls out a notepad and starts sketching out the bars.
✏ Then he comments, "the shortest pencil is longer than the longest memory."
If you want to remember something, you've got to document it.
📝 Write it down.
📸 Take a picture.
📹 Record it on video.
Whatever works best for you.
But the most important thing is to capture it, because if you don't, that moment will become lost forever.
